Information on what you can bring and cannot bring on the Parade:
We want to make sure that West Lothian Pride Parade is a safe and enjoyable one for everyone attending so we have created a list below of things we cannot allow on the Parade.
Banned/Restricted Items:
- Alcohol
- Political flags that are not linked to the LGBTQIA+ community.
- Megaphones - Although megaphones are allowed we ask that there is no swearing from them or political statements that are not linked to the LGBTQIA+ Community
Accessibility:
This year, we're proud to introduce the West Lothian Pride Accessibility Bus as part of our parade for the very first time! We believe everyone should have the opportunity to take part in the march, and the addition of the Accessibility Bus helps make that a reality for those who may find walking the full route difficult. The bus will travel the full parade route alongside marchers, ensuring an inclusive and welcoming experience for all. Booking for spaces on the Accessibility Bus will be opening soonβkeep an eye on our website and social media for updates!
Information for residents:
West Lothian Pride is a celebration for the whole community, and we're committed to keeping local residents well-informed about the event.
Road Closures:
During the Pride Parade, there will be rolling road closures along the route (detailed above). These closures will be managed by Police Scotland and are designed to affect only a small number of roads at any one time. The parade may take up to 1.5 hours to pass, so please allow extra time for travel and expect some delays in the area.
Loud Music:
You can expect loud music during the parade and within the Pride Village at Howden Park. Music will be played between 10:00 AM and 8:00 PM, especially in the Howden Park area. All actives in the area will be finished by 11pm.
We hope many of you will join us in celebrating! If you're not taking part, feel free to give us a wave or beep your horn to show your support as the parade passes by.
