About us

West Lothian Pride is a vibrant and inclusive community group that is dedicated to celebrating and supporting the LGBTQI+ community in West Lothian. Our team of passionate volunteers work tirelessly to organize a free annual event that brings together people from all walks of life to celebrate love, equality, and diversity. We are committed to creating a safe and welcoming space for the LGBTQI+ community and their allies to come together, share their stories, and support one another. Our goal is to promote inclusivity, raise awareness, and celebrate the unique identities of all individuals. We believe that everyone has the right to love and be loved, and we are proud to be a part of creating a more accepting and diverse society in West Lothian.

West Lothian Pride was founded in 2015 by a group of the Glitter Cannons and local LGBTQI+ individuals who recognised the need for a Pride event in their community. The first event was held in July 2015 at Howden Park Centre in Livingston It was a huge success and sparked the start of an annual tradition. In 2016 the event moved to a larger venue, the West Lothian College, and saw even more attendees and support from local businesses and organisations. Each year, the event continues to grow and evolve, with a diverse range of performers, speakers, and activities.

As West Lothian Pride approaches, it is important to recognize the dedicated volunteers who make this event possible. This group of individuals works tirelessly to create a safe and inclusive space for the LGBTQI+ community and their allies in West Lothian. Their hard work and dedication are evident in the free event they put on every year. From organizing the parade and entertainment to ensuring the event runs smoothly, the team at West Lothian Pride takes great pride in their work.
